Transforma Projects

In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, we established Transforma to expand opportunities for artists and other creative practitioners to use their skills in the rebuilding of New Orleans. Over the course of five years, Transforma strategically supported artists working in public with direct financial assistance, technical assistance, and networking opportunities. The project’s focus was on the role of artists, the arts, and culture in addressing the social and political needs that confront our society.

Glow

Glow, Santa Monica’s signature cultural event, became an overnight sensation in 2008, and found an equal number of impassioned followers in 2010 and 2013. An all-night cultural experience, Glow features original commissions by artists that re-imagine Santa Monica Beach as a playground for thoughtful and participatory temporary artworks. The mix of art, technology and an amazing natural setting is remarkable—and of course given the scale of the event, takes an entire City to produce.
